What this Amazon image checker tests
Upload a main image and the checker reads its pixels in your browser. It compares the result with the requirements Amazon publishes for main images:
| Check | Amazon requirement | How it is measured |
|---|---|---|
| Image size | At least 1000 px on the longest side for zoom | The file’s real pixel size |
| Aspect ratio | Square is recommended | Width compared with height |
| File format | JPEG, PNG or TIFF | The file type |
| Background | Pure white, RGB 255, 255, 255 | Every pixel connected to the image edge |
| Frame fill | About 85% of the frame | The product’s outer bounds against the image size |
| Product in frame | The whole product is visible | Space between the product and each edge |
Why a white background can still fail
A background can look perfectly white and still measure 250 or 252. Your eyes adjust to the page around the image, so small differences are invisible on screen.
That is why the checker marks every off-white pixel in pink. If you see a pink haze, a shadow or a halo around the product, that area is not pure white. Read how to get a true white background.
What to do with the results
- Fix each item marked Needs fix, starting with the background.
- Run the new file through the checker again.
- Check the items the checker cannot judge by eye, such as added text and props.
- If a listing is already suppressed, follow our step-by-step fix.
Common questions
Is this an official Amazon tool?
No. It is an independent checker based on Amazon’s published requirements. Amazon makes the final decision, and passing here does not guarantee approval.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is read and measured in your browser and is never sent to our servers. We only count anonymous results, such as which checks passed.
Can it detect text or logos on my image?
Not yet. Automatic checks cover size, format, background and framing. Added text, logos and props are in the checklist for you to confirm by eye.
What if my product is white?
The checker only looks at the background connected to the image edge, so highlights inside a product are ignored. A white product on white may not be measured reliably, and the results will say so.
